Kathmandu. CPN-UML lawmaker Ain Bahadur Mahar has demanded that the government provide free medical treatment to those injured in the jeep accident in Bajhang.

Speaking at the meeting of the House of Representatives, Mahar said that three people died on the spot when a Bolero jeep en route to Kedarsyun rural municipality from Bungal municipality of Bajhang met with an accident at Sungure of Durgathali rural municipality-6 on July 10.

The deceased have been identified as Chakra Bahadur Mahat and Kuturi Devi Mahat of Durgathali rural municipality-6 and Imala Mahat of Kedarsyun rural municipality-7.

Lawmaker Mahar paid tribute to the deceased and extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families. About 12 people were injured in the accident and eight of them are in critical condition, he said.

He thanked the government for the rescue of the injured through helicopter as it takes a long time to rescue the injured by road due to the difficult terrain.

“The Nepal government immediately arranged a helicopter to help rescue the injured. I would like to thank the Government of Nepal, Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Ministry of Home Affairs for this,” he said.

Stating that some of the injured are undergoing treatment at Kathmandu-based Trauma Hospital and some at Nepalgunj, he drew the attention of the government to provide their full treatment free of cost.
