Kathmandu. With the beginning of the new fiscal year 2083/84, the Koshi Province government has been able to spend more than 70 percent of the budget in the previous fiscal year. Minister for Economic Affairs and Planning Bidur Kumar Linthep has said that the budget has been implemented in a satisfactory manner despite unusual political and administrative situation.
Talking to Nepal News Bank, Minister Linthep said that although the implementation of the budget was affected due to the Jenji movement, the House of Representatives election and the administrative obstacles created by it, the provincial government has been able to spend more than 70 percent of the budget.
According to him, although the expenditure for the current fiscal year is slightly less than the previous year, the budget implementation of Koshi Province is satisfactory compared to other provinces of the country.
According to the preliminary details of the Financial Comptroller Office, Rs 26.25 billion has been spent out of Rs 36.09 billion allocated for the fiscal year 2082/83. This is 72.72 percent of the total budget.
Minister Linthep said the government would move ahead in the new fiscal year to make the budget implementation more effective, speed up development projects, improve capital expenditure and make the economic activities of the province more dynamic.
