Kathmandu. The Ministry of Land Management, Cooperatives, Federal Affairs and General Administration has sent a letter not to keep the government retirees on contract.
The General Administration has written a letter to all the ministries, commissioners, secretariats, offices and bodies on Friday asking them not to keep the pensioners on contract.
The employees currently working on contract have been asked to continue the contract agreement with the concerned body until further arrangement.
“If the new employees are to be employed on contract basis in the posts to be created in the newly established bodies or in the vacant posts in any agency, the contractual employees in the pool in different bodies can be employed on contract basis through the Ministry of Land, Management, Cooperatives, Federal Affairs and General Administration,” the letter states.
In the case of the bodies to be merged or scrapped under different ministries, the concerned ministry has been asked to determine the minimum human resources required and work from among the employees currently working in the same body.
The Finance Ministry will arrange the required salary and allowances of the employees kept on contract basis at the request of the concerned liaison ministry.
