Today, there is a risk of floods in Taplejung, Panchthar, Ilam, Jhapa, Morang, Sankhuwasabha, Dolakha, Ramechhap, Kavrepalanchowk, Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, Lalitpur, Sindhupalchowk, Rasuwa, Nuwakot, Dhading, Gorkha, Lamjung, Kaski, Parbat, Baglung, Myagdi, Humla, Bajhang, Bajura, Achham, Doti, Kanchanpur, Dadeldhura, Baitadi and Darchula.
The Flood Forecasting Division has urged the people to stay alert in the areas surrounding the rivers and rivulets flowing through the vulnerable districts. There is the possibility of significant rise in water level in Narayani, Karnali, Mahakali and Bagmati rivers and their tributaries. Similarly, the water level in Koshi, Narayani, Bagmati, Karnali, Mahakali and their tributaries, as well as in Kankai, Kamala, Babai, East Rapti and West Rapti has remained below the warning level.
The Division has urged the people living near the Mahakali River to adopt high alertness as the area is at high risk especially as the area near the Mahakali River is at high risk. It has also requested the local levels, security bodies and the concerned bodies to continuously monitor the condition of the river and disseminate information to the community on time and maintain necessary preparedness.
The Division has urged the general public to regularly check the official information regularly and not to travel unnecessarily to the areas near the river as the risk may increase depending on the condition of rainfall and changes in the river flow.
