Dinesh DC retires from Film Development Board after two years

Kathmandu. In the presence of Sabin Singh Chaudhary, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Information and Communications and Member Secretary of the Film Development Board, Board Member Santosh Babu Lohani and the employees of the Board bid farewell to the Chairman DC.

DC was appointed as the chairman of the Film Development Board on August 3, 2081. He is the 18th chairman of the board. He was appointed as the chairman of the board by the then Prime Minister and CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli-led government.

Since taking over as the chairman, DC has taken various initiatives to develop the cinema sector and make the board’s functioning more systematic and effective.

During his tenure, many important works have been done during his tenure such as making a provision for the publication of real time box office report on a weekly basis, conducting various programs for the capacity building of cine artists, digitizing the work of the board, setting up a ‘story bank’ and honoring the 25 highest-grossing films of the last 25 years.

Due to these activities, DC’s two-year tenure has been hailed as a fruitful and successful tenure for the film industry.
