KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress parliamentary party leader Bhishma Raj Angdembe has said that the mandate given to the government is not to rule arbitrarily but to change the lives of the citizens.

Speaking at the meeting of the House of Representatives, leader Angdembe accused the government of lacking governance skills despite having majority power in the parliament. He said that even after 6 months of the formation of the government, there has been no proper rescue and relief for the flood and landslide victims and the economy is becoming weaker.

Strongly objecting to the working style of the Prime Minister, leader Angdembe said that the government is trying to run the country on the basis of arrogance and social media by ignoring the parliament and the opposition. Angdembe said that whether the parliament has the number and power of the government to convert it into results, this will determine the future of the government.

Leader Angdembe accused the Prime Minister of violating parliamentary decorum by not informing the parliament even when he returned from attending the United Nations General Assembly. Stating that real implementation, social justice and good governance were the need of the hour rather than populism, monopoly and digital declarations, he demanded the government to make the people in despair feel that there is a government in the country.
