Writ petition filed against cancellation of Resham Lal Chaudhary’s candidacy

Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: The Supreme Court (SC) has decided to plead on a writ petition filed by Resham Lal Chaudhary, patron of Nagarik Unmukti Party Nepal, challenging the Election Commission’s decision.

Chaudhary had filed a writ petition at the Supreme Court against his decision after the Election Commission rejected his candidacy from Kailali constituency-1.TAG_OPEN_p_5 A division bench of Justices Bal Krishna Dhakal and Nripa Dhwaj Niraula will hear the case on Thursday.

Earlier, a single bench of Justice Bal Krishna Dhakal had asked the Election Commission to appear before it to discuss the interim order.TAG_OPEN_p_4

Chaudhary’s candidacy was registered for the election to the House of Representatives scheduled for March 4.
