Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Sushila Karki has paid tributes to all martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the cause of civil liberty, democracy and justice.
Issuing a message on Friday, Prime Minister Karki has also paid tribute to the brave warriors who attained martyrdom in the ‘Genji Movement’ that was raised with the expectation of justice, equality, responsible governance and bright future.
“A heartfelt tribute to all the martyrs who sacrificed their precious lives for civil liberties and democracy,” she wrote. ’
According to PM Karki, the country is standing at a historic turning point today due to the courage, consciousness and determination of the martyrs. She wished that no mother’s lap should be emptied again, urging one and all to move ahead towards building a peaceful, just and inclusive society.
“It is due to their courage, consciousness and determination that the country is standing at a historic turning point of change. I don’t want any mother’s lap to be empty again,” she said.
“It was the prime responsibility of every ruler to build the state based on governing values, morality and respect to citizens,” she said.
