Hetauda road widening dispute case set for hearing

. The hearing on the case related to the road expansion dispute in Hetauda bazaar area has been scheduled for the eighth time. A division bench of Justices Sapana Pradhan Malla and Abdul Aziz Muslim will conduct the hearing.

TAG_OPEN_p_5 The case was filed after the Supreme Court issued an interim order. Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) leader and former lawmaker Bindwasini Kansakar and 6 others had filed a writ petition demanding that they not get compensation and ownership of local property during the road expansion.

Locals had filed a writ petition at the Supreme Court on December 30 after the Division Road Office, Hetauda Sub-Metropolitan City and District Administration Office, Makawanpur initiated the process for the expansion of the road.TAG_OPEN_p_4 The Department of Roads, the Ministry of Urban Development and the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport were named as defendants in the case.

Earlier, the Supreme Court had issued a temporary interim order on November 22.TAG_OPEN_p_3 A single bench of Justice Meghraj Pokharel on December 12 issued a show-cause order and an interim order in the name of the defendants. A division bench of Justices Kumar Regmi and Mahesh Sharma Poudel had issued the order to produce the case on the same day.
