Kathmandu. CPN-UML Kaski in-charge Krishna Thapa has passed away. He was rushed to Manipal Teaching Hospital in Pokhara after suffering a heart attack.
UML Kaski Chairman Bain Bahadur Chhetri Adhikari confirmed that the death of a person admitted to Manipal Teaching Hospital has decreased. According to hospital sources, Thapa passed away. The Kaski committee had called an election review meeting today and Thapa collapsed in the meeting. He was elected mayor of Pokhara in 2054 BS. He was elected to the Gandaki Provincial Assembly in 2074 BS and lost in the mayoral election of Pokhara in 2079 BS.
Thapa had got the ticket in this election as well. However, the same ticket was later given to Rashmi Acharya.
Thapa, the former chairman of Kaski district committee, had also become a central member in the general convention of the CPN-UML after the Genji movement.
