Kathmandu. Communist Party of Nepal (CPN) lawmaker Pramesh Hamal has drawn the attention of the government to make the coverage of the World Cup championship accessible to the general public.

Speaking at the meeting of the House of Representatives on Tuesday, Hamal said that the provision of paying Rs 999 for spectators to watch the World Cup is not accessible to all citizens.

He said that the general public has high interest in the World Cup and many people have been deprived of watching the live telecast due to the fees.

Hamal, through the Speaker, urged the government to make arrangements for broadcasting the World Cup matches free of cost through Nepal Television.

“Everybody’s interested in the World Cup right now. I am also interested, but I have to pay Rs 999,000 to see it, which is not accessible to everyone,” he said. At least the income has been raised. Therefore, I demand it through the Speaker. I urge the Government of Nepal to make it available free of cost through its television and also to listen to the service providers. ’
