Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) declines by 30 points

Kathmandu. The stock market fell by double digits a day after the release of the monetary policy.

The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index decreased by 30.09 points to close at 2,621.59 points today. On Tuesday, the NEPSE index increased by 24 points.

Investors had expected the monetary policy to have a positive impact on the stock market.

Except for mutual funds, the sub-indices of all the sub-indices of the hydropower group decreased by 1.70 percent.

Shares of 247 companies decreased today and 25 declined. Similarly, the shares of 5 companies have not fluctuated.

Shares of Corporate Development Bank fell nearly 13.5 percent today. Overall, Citizens Bank’s debentures rose 8.87 percent on the day of the decline.

Although the NEPSE index decreased today, the transaction amount increased. A total of 8,463,000 units of shares of 362 companies were traded for Rs 4.82 billion compared to Rs 4.40 billion yesterday.
