Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) has urged the business houses not to stock more LP gas cylinders than required by the government.
Issuing a notice on Thursday, the NOC urged the hotels, restaurants, party palaces and other business establishments not to keep excess stock of LP gas cylinders.
The NOC has been supplying and selling 14.2 kg gas cylinders in the market. According to the NOC, 14.2 kg cylinders have been sold in the market since July 14.
The NOC has drawn the attention of the NOC after complaints that the general consumers were not able to get cooking gas easily in the market despite the import and sale of cooking gas (LPG) which is about 20 per cent more than the previous one.
The monitoring carried out on the basis of complaints and information received at the NOC’s rapid response desk found that some hotels, restaurants, party palaces and other business establishments had excess stock of gas cylinders.
The NOC has also urged such establishments not to store gas cylinders unnecessarily and to immediately sell and distribute gas cylinders to the general consumers through the concerned depots if the stock is already kept.
