President calls for expediting rescue and relief operations

Kathmandu. President Ram Chandra Poudel has said he was deeply saddened by the loss of lives and properties due to the sudden flood in the Bhotekoshi River that flows through Rasuwa and Nuwakot this morning.

He has appealed to the government, political parties, social organisations, security agencies and the general public to intensify rescue and relief efforts in this hour of disaster. He also urged the people living downstream areas to remain alert and engage in necessary coordination and assistance.
