Kathmandu. Today is being observed as Genji Martyrs’ Day.

The government has declared a public holiday on September 23 to mark the Genji Martyrs’ Day.

The meeting of the Council of Ministers held on September 1 had decided to give a public holiday throughout the country in memory of the youths who lost their lives in course of the agitation.

The Jenji movement on September 23 had caused political upheaval in the country and many Genji youths had lost their lives.
