Kathmandu. The number of passengers returning home from Kathmandu Valley to celebrate Dashain has increased.

People involved in studies, employment and other occupations have started returning to their villages to celebrate Dashain.

The movement of passengers in long and short distance public vehicles going to different places of the country has increased in different checkpoints of Kathmandu Valley. According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Rabindra Khanal of Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office, 56,809 passengers have left in the last 24 hours.

More than 27,649 passengers have left the Nagdhunga border point and more than 5,000 passengers have left the Pharping checkpoint. Similarly, passengers have also left Thankot, Bhimdhunga, Tinpiple, Sankhu, Bhaktapur and Bhatte Danda.

According to the Federal Road Supervision and Monitoring Office, there is no obstruction at the main entry points for the passengers going home during the Dashain festival.

Similarly, two-way traffic has been operated on the Nagdhunga-Naubise road, Muglin-Narayangadh road, Kanti Highway and BP Highway.

Meanwhile, with the increase in the number of passengers returning home, transport entrepreneurs are facing problems in managing passengers. Dekanath Gautam, general secretary of the Federation of Nepalese National Transport Entrepreneurs, said that the condition of the road has caused problems in the transport management.

The Federation has urged the passengers to travel only by buying tickets, paying only the fixed fare and asking the vehicle owners to travel after checking the condition of the vehicles.
