Govt distributes land ownership certificates to 135 families in 3 months

Kathmandu. The Ministry of Land Management, Cooperatives, Federal Affairs and General Administration has distributed land ownership certificates to 135 premises in the first quarter of this fiscal year.

According to the first quarterly progress report of the Ministry of Land Management, Cooperatives, Federal Affairs and General Administration, the Land Problem Resolution Committee (Tahachal) has distributed land ownership certificates to 135 families in the first quarter of the current fiscal year (from July 15 to mid-October).

According to the report, out of the total 135 ownership certificates distributed, 11 were distributed to landless Dalits, 41 to landless squatters and 83 to unsystematic settlers.

The report states that the committee has expedited the work of data collection, verification and measurement to solve the problems of landless Dalits, squatters and unorganized settlers. A total of 51,517 applications have been entered into the information system of the committee for the collection of accurate data of landless and unorganized settlers during this period.

Of these, 7,070 applications were received from landless Dalits, 8,083 from landless squatters and 31,317 from unorganized settlers, according to the report. The report also states that 5,127 applications were registered to complete the incomplete and incomplete works of the previous commissions.

In order to systematize the land identification and distribution process, the committee has successfully completed the measurement and mapping of a total of 1,947 plots of land in different places across the country during the quarter.

It is stated that the Committee has signed a memorandum of understanding with Bhaktapur Municipality regarding the distribution of land to landless Dalits and landless squatters and management of unsystematic settlement in order to resolve the problems in the Kathmandu Valley.
