Elected office-bearers from NC special general convention to visit party office on Friday

Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress (NC) President Gagan Thapa is scheduled to take office at the party office in Sanepa on Friday.

According to Thapa faction leader Manoj Mani Acharya, the party office-bearers and central members will reach the party office at 1 pm to take office.TAG_OPEN_p_5

The special general convention will be chaired by Thapa, Bishwa Prakash Sharma and Pushpa Bhusal as the vice presidents, Gururaj Ghimire and Pradip Poudel as general secretaries.TAG_OPEN_p_4 Dila Sangraula Panta, Farmullah Mansoor, Yogendra Chaudhary, Uday Shumsher Rana, Karna Bahadur Budha, Bahadur Singh Lama and Mukta Yadav were elected joint general secretaries. A 135-member central working committee was elected unanimously.

Prior to this, Sher Bahadur Deuba and Dr. The group led by Shekhar Koirala had approached the Election Commission and the Supreme Court rejecting the special general convention. However, the EC and the court have given legitimacy to the Thapa-led committee.
