Corruption case filed against former senior engineer of Bharatpur Metropolitan City

. The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has filed a corruption case against Bharat Kumar Acharya, a senior engineer at Bharatpur Metropolitan City.

According to the commission, Acharya has been claimed to have acquired property that could not be verified by acting against the dignity of his position.TAG_OPEN_p_3 A case has been filed at the Special Court demanding a recovery of Rs 6,78,91,015.

Acharya joined the service on January 19, 2048 and was working till June 6, 2080.TAG_OPEN_p_2 He has an income of more than Rs 10 crore, including salary, allowances and meeting allowances, of which only Rs 3.51 crore has been proved. According to CIAA Spokesperson Suresh Neupane, the anti-graft body has filed the case stating that the property has been linked in the name of his wife Lily Subedi as the source of the remaining amount is not verified.
