Stock market index declines 45 points to 14 billion

. The Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) index fell by 42.58 points to close at 2,726.51 points on Tuesday. The market continued to fall as the index fell on the previous day.

The index decreased but the transaction volume remained high. According to NEPSE, 32.62 million units of shares of 333 companies worth Rs 14.16 billion were traded in the stock market on Tuesday.

Most of the group-wise indices are in the red as the market declines.TAG_OPEN_p_37 Banking, development banks, finance, life insurance, microfinance, non-life insurance, hotel, hydropower, manufacturing and business groups all decreased. However, the indices of mutual funds remained stable.

Out of the companies traded on Tuesday, the price of shares of 224 companies decreased while the prices of 34 companies increased.TAG_OPEN_p_36 The share price of Saptakoshi Development Bank has increased by 8.56 percent.

Analysts say that the turnover amount is high even though the index is low as the investor activity is increasing in the market due to the election environment ।
