Kathmandu. The weather across the country is constantly changing with the activation of monsoon. In some places it is extremely hot and in some places it is raining incessantly. With the rains, Nepal’s mountains are covered with greenery and the natural beauty has become even more enchanting.

Those traveling on the road from Kathmandu to Hetauda via Kulekhani via Deurali can experience strange weather. The sky, which was sunny a few minutes ago, is covered with thick clouds and mist.

Although Kathmandu and Hetauda are feeling hot these days, the weather is completely different in the Deurali area of the road connecting these two cities. In a few moments, the surrounding green hills, the beautiful Indrasarovar (Kulekhani) reservoir and the beautiful scenery can be clearly seen, while in the next few minutes, the thick fog creates a situation that is not visible even a few meters away.

Deurali, about 45 km from Balkhu of Kathmandu, is also known as a major stop for vehicles to eat and rest on the Kathmandu-Hetauda road.

Deurali is known not only for its natural beauty but also for its historical significance. Nepal’s first ropeway was used to transport goods from Dhorsing of Makwanpur to Matatirtha of Kathmandu before modern transportation facilities were developed from this region. The ropeway was constructed in 1963 BS at the initiative of Rana Prime Minister Chandra Shumsher with the support of the US government.
