Stock market rises ahead of Tihar holidays

KATHMANDU: The stock fell by double digits yesterday and rose marginally today. The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index rose by 2.64 points to close at 2,655.22 points today.

Except for others, the sub-indices of all the groups have increased today. Shares of 158 companies have increased and 107 have fallen. Shares of 14 companies have not fluctuated.

Shares of Crest Micro Life Insurance rose 14 per cent today. Shares of Ghorahi Cement fell by 6 per cent. Shares of Ghorahi Cement fell by 40 per cent.

Although the NEPSE index rose today, the transaction amount has decreased. Shares of 336 companies were traded at Rs 3.46 billion compared to Rs 4.72 billion yesterday.

Now the stock market will open on November 27. The Tihar holiday will start from tomorrow.
