Nepali Congress to hold Madhes meeting on January 30

. The Madhes assembly scheduled to be held in Janakpur on January 30 will not take place.

Nepali Congress President Gagan Thapa and other leaders were scheduled to visit Madhes on January 24 and Janakpur on January 2 TAG_OPEN_p_7 6. However, the event was postponed as the election code of conduct has already come into force.

According to the Election Commission, candidates will not be allowed to campaign and hold any rallies before February 17.TAG_OPEN_p_6 The code of conduct has come into effect from the day before the filing of nomination for the election to the House of Representatives. The nomination was filed on January 6.

This is the reason why the Congress has postponed the date of the Madhes assembly. A leader of the Nepali Congress (NC) has said that the new date of the Madhes assembly will be decided after discussions.

Nepali Congress (TAG_OPEN_p_4 NC) President Gagan Thapa is contesting for the House of Representatives from Sarlahi-4.
