Case filed against 6 people for granting Nepali citizenship to Indian citizen

Kathmandu. The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has filed a case at the Special Court against 6 persons, including the then office chief of Dang, on the charge of granting Nepali citizenship to an Indian citizen using forged documents. It is alleged that the ward chairperson, employees and the person who obtained the citizenship card had forged the birth certificate and death certificate. The main defendant has been sentenced to imprisonment and fine under the Prevention of Corruption Act.
