Kathmandu. The government has decided to investigate the Dhading bus accident. Joint Spokesperson at the Ministry of Home Affairs Rama Acharya said that a meeting of the Ministry of Home Affairs held on Monday decided to investigate into the accident.
Following the accident, Home Minister Om Prakash, secretaries at the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure, Director General of Department of Roads, chiefs of three security bodies and stakeholders held discussions on the issue. During the meeting, it was decided to form a committee to investigate the incident.
The passenger bus (Ga 2 Kha 1421) en route to Kathmandu from Pokhara plunged into the bank of the Trishuli River at Benighat Rorang rural municipality-5 in Dhading at around 1.00 am on Sunday night.
At least 18 people were killed in the accident. 17 people died on the spot and one at the Trauma Center.
According to the police, 10 people including a woman have been brought to the National Hospital in Kalanki and 15 people have been brought to the Trauma Center. One person died in the incident and 14 others are undergoing treatment, police said.
