Special preparation classes launched to improve SEE results

Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: The Department of Education of Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has started special classes in 6 schools in a bid to improve the results of the Secondary Education Examination (SEE). The department plans to conduct special classes in 11 schools where less than 50 percent of the students passed the SEE examination conducted in the previous years.

Geetamata Secondary School, Koteshwor Saraswati Secondary School, Juddhodaya Secondary School, Padma Kanya Secondary School, Paropakar Secondary School and Guheshwori Bal Shiksha Secondary School have started classes in the first phase. A total of 523 students in need of special classes will be included in these schools. Subject experts, resource teachers, retired teachers will take these classes.

Prabhat Secondary School, Nawayug Secondary School, Nepal Adarsha Secondary School, Bhakta Vidyashram Secondary School and Nandi Ratri Secondary School will start classes from March 17.

A total of 104 students from these schools will be enrolled in special classes. A total of 627 students will be provided special classes in both groups. This is 13 percent of the total examinees.

Yesterday, Geeta Mata. v. Inaugurating the classes, Acting Mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City Sunita Dangol said that the classes were organized with the objective of encouraging students to participate in exams with confidence.

She said, “Worrying about whether the practice will be enough during the preparation time, participating in the exam without worrying. Thinking that we will be the best batch among the SEE batches of this school. Write only the answer to the question. Write down the answers to all the questions. No one can stop you from getting good results. ’

The main objective of the special class is to increase the SEE pass percentage of the community schools within the entire metropolis by providing the necessary knowledge and skills in the writing style to the students who have low learning achievement to pass the SEE.

Priority has been given to schools that have not achieved satisfactory results in the past year. Apart from this, if other schools demand classes, the department will provide them.

In the 2081 Secondary Education Examination (SEE), 789 students scored between 3.61 and 4 GPA. Of these, 17 had 4 GPAs. This is 44.77 percent more than in 2080. In that year (2080), 545 students had a GPA of 3.61 to 4. In the 2081 examination, 1,148 students scored between 3.21 and 3.6 GPA. Similarly, there were 890 students with a GPA of 2.81 to 3.2, 257 with a GPA of 2.41 to 2.8, and 16 with a GPA of 2.01 to 2.4.
