Kathmandu. A drone attack has hit the U.S. Embassy in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Saudi Arabia’s Defense Ministry has confirmed that two drones attacked the embassy building.

The embassy said in a statement posted on X that the attack caused a minor fire and caused minor damage to the building.

According to the news agency Reuters, after the attack on the embassy building, a loud explosion was heard and black smoke could be seen in the sky.

The details of the damage to the embassy are yet to be revealed. The building had already been evacuated.

The US mission in Saudi Arabia urged people living in Jeddah, Riyadh and Dhahran to “stay safe at home”.

Iran has continued its attacks on US military bases in the Gulf countries and Israel after the killing of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei in an attack on Iran on Saturday.

Earlier on Monday, smoke could be seen billowing from or around the U.S. Embassy in Kuwait. The embassy then appealed to the public not to come to the embassy and to stay safe in their homes.

In retaliation, Iran has continued its attacks on the Gulf countries of the Middle East. Diwas Shrestha, a security guard from Gorkha, was killed in an attack on an airport in the UAE. Nepalis are still terrified as alarm sirens are constantly sounding and drones are seen flying in the sky.
