Over 99,000 votes cast till 4:00 pm in Jhapa-5

Kathmandu. Voting for the member of the House of Representatives (HoR) in Jhapa-5 is taking place peacefully on Thursday.

According to the election officer, 99,819 votes were cast in the constituency till 4 pm. Of them, 53,656 are female voters and 46,163 are male.

Voting began in earnest in the morning. Voters queued up at various polling stations to cast their votes.

Nepal Police, Armed Police Force and other security personnel have been mobilized in view of the election security. No untoward incident has been reported so far and the voting process is going ahead peacefully, the election office said.
