Protests erupt in U.S. cities against U.S.-Israeli attacks on Iran

Kathmandu. Demonstrations have been held in New York and other US cities to protest the US-Israeli attack on Iran and to call for a ceasefire.

In Manhattan’s Union Square, thousands of demonstrators carried placards that read “Stop the war in Iran” and “Get out of Iran”. The demonstrators called on the government to stop military action against the country.

“I hope that all countries and the international community will put pressure on Israel and the United States to stop the war,” said Adrina, one of the protesters. She also said that the conflict has caused economic losses.

The United States and Israel launched their strikes against Iran on February 28. As a result, the war-torn Middle East has been plunged into a new phase of violence.

Iran has retaliated with a series of retaliatory attacks against Israel and U.S. targets across the region.

Iran’s ambassador to the United Nations, Amir Saeed Iranian, has said that at least 1,332 Iranians, including women and children, have been killed and thousands injured in the US-Israeli airstrikes.
