Nepalgunj Airport completes construction of modern terminal building

Kathmandu. Construction of modern terminal building at Nepalgunj Airport has been completed. However, the Nepalgunj Airport Terminal Building is yet to be handed over to the project. According to Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN), the construction of buildings is of better quality than that of Bhairahawa and Tribhuvan International Airports.

The terminal building of Nepalgunj Airport has been constructed with the objective of operating flights from Nepalgunj Airport, which is considered to be the second largest airport after Kathmandu, to Delhi, Lucknow.TAG_OPEN_div_29

Sharma and Co. completed the construction of the Nepalgunj Airport Terminal Building one and half months before the expiry of its deadline and the total cost of the project is Rs 2.98 billion.TAG_OPEN_div_27

The building, equipped with state-of-the-art technology and facilities, can serve 1,600 passengers per hour during peak hours.TAG_OPEN_div_25 The construction company which started the construction work from Poush 2079 BS had expedited it with the aim of completing it in three years. The terminal building has three floors with a semi-basement. The basement of which has been built for commercial purposes.

The terminal building has an area of 5,07 TAG_OPEN_div_23 5 square meters and has 14 passenger checking counters, three VIP rooms, one children’s playing area and separate rooms for customs and quarantine checks.

Inside the new terminal building, a 5 to 14 meter wide road has been constructed along with a garden. A proper drainage system has also been made on the periphery of the terminal building for drainage and drainage of excess water.
