Kathmandu. Preparations have been intensified for the swearing-in ceremony of the newly-elected lawmakers on March 26. Spokesperson of the Federal Parliament Secretariat, Joint Secretary Ek Ram Giri, said that preparations are underway to organize the swearing-in ceremony on March 26. As the new parliament building under construction in Singha Durbar is not yet fully ready, preparations are underway to construct a temporary hall for the programme. Works like installing microphones and lights in the hall for the oath-taking ceremony are going on in full swing.
The alternative site was needed after a fire broke out in the old parliament building during the Jenji protests. Accordingly, a multi-purpose hall inside the under-construction building has been temporarily managed in Singha Durbar. Spokesperson Giri said that the Hall is expected to be fully ready within a few days.
