Kathmandu. Iran has closed the Strait of Hormuz again after Israel attacked Lebanon’s armed group Hezbollah.
As a result, the ceasefire agreement between the US and Iran has been thrown into confusion. Dozens of people have been killed in Israeli attacks on businesses and residential areas in Beirut yesterday, according to international media.
Meanwhile, the US has asked Iran to immediately open the waterway. Iran said the US had violated three of the 10-point terms and said the talks were “meaningless”.
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has said the end of the war in Lebanon is part of a ceasefire, but US President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu have said that the deal will not cover Lebanon.
The US and Iran are scheduled to hold talks in Islamabad tomorrow with the mediation of Pakistan.
