Parliament meeting postponed due to delay of RSP general convention

Kathmandu. The first general convention of the ruling Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has been postponed. The meeting has been postponed for the second time as the general convention could not be concluded.

The meeting of the House of Representatives scheduled for 1:00 pm today has been postponed till 11:00 am on Saturday. The date of the meeting had been changed twice before.

The agenda of today’s meeting was to present five important bills and annual report of the Auditor General.

As per the schedule, Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, Sobita Gautam, on behalf of the Prime Minister, was scheduled to table the 39th annual report of the Auditor General, 2083 BS.

The government was preparing to present the Public Procurement (Second Amendment) Bill, 2083 BS in the House.

Similarly, Finance Minister Swarnim Wagle is scheduled to table the Money Laundering (Money Laundering) Elimination (third amendment) Bill, 2083 while Minister for Land Management, Cooperatives, Federal Affairs and General Administration Pratibha Rawal will present the Cooperative (first amendment) Bill, 2083.

Minister for Health and Food Hygiene Nisha Mehta was scheduled to present the bill to amend some Nepal Acts related to the Academy of Health Sciences, 2083.

Likewise, the agenda of the meeting was to hold discussion on the amendments received on the Finance Bill-2083 and pass it for decision and clause-wise discussion on the Bill to Raise National Debt-2083.
