Kathmandu. The United States has again carried out air strikes on Iran. WASHINGTON (AP) — The U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM), directed by U.S. President Donald Trump, said on Saturday that it carried out additional strikes on Iran’s military infrastructure. According to CENTCOM, Iran was given the opportunity to abide by the ceasefire agreement after the US action in response to the Iranian attack on Friday. The United States said Iran targeted a Panamanian-flagged oil tanker with a “unilateral drone strike” at around 4:30 a.m. (local time) on Saturday. CENTCOM said the ship was carrying more than two million barrels of crude oil near the Strait of Hormuz.
The US military said it had since carried out targeted strikes on Iran’s military infrastructure such as surveillance infrastructure, communications systems, air defence systems, drone storage facilities and mine laying capabilities. “The U.S. military is vigilant, capable and ready to take further action if necessary,” CENTCOM said in a statement.
Ibrahim Alfiqar, a spokesman for Iran’s Khatam al-Anbiya central headquarters, issued a stern warning to the US on X.
“You have attacked our sovereignty. Now expect a practical answer that will change the equation. You have misjudged and we have run out of patience. Prepare for a long, endless night. The next few hours will answer our strength. ’
Meanwhile, Bahrain on Saturday accused Iran of firing too many drones on its soil. Bahrain’s foreign ministry said in a statement that the incident was a “serious violation of its sovereignty” and undermined efforts to maintain regional peace and stability.
The development came hours after the United States and Iran exchanged direct military strikes for the first time since a ceasefire came into effect in the Middle East. ANI
