Nagdhunga-Muglin road obstructed due to flooding of Trishuli River at Krishnabhir

Kathmandu. The Nagdhunga-Muglin road section has been obstructed again due to rising water level in the Trishuli River.

According to the Muglin police, the operation of vehicles has been stopped after the flood of the Trishuli river in Krishnabhir area of Dhading eroded the road from below. According to the police, some sections of the road have been cut and vehicular movement has become dangerous.

Vehicular movement along the Kathmandu-Muglin and Muglin-Narayangadh roads has come to a grinding halt for some time this morning following reports of rising water level in the Bhotekoshi river.

Later, the vehicle was brought into operation after receiving information that there was no immediate risk of flooding. However, soon after, the water level in the Trishuli river rose again, causing road erosion in the Krishnabhir area.

According to the Flood Forecasting Division, the water level of the Trishuli river in Dhading area has reached almost three meters above the danger level. Passengers and vehicles have been stranded at various places due to the road blockade.

The police have urged the passengers not to stay in the risky areas of the river and road and to follow the instructions of the security personnel and administration. The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority has urged the people to be on high alert in the riverine areas of Rasuwa, Nuwakot, Dhading and Chitwan as the flood of the Bhotekoshi River is coming down through Trishuli.

The security personnel deputed for search, rescue and relief operations have also been asked to adopt special precautions.
