ICC T20 World Cup 2019: Nepal to face England today

Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: Nepal is facing England in the first match of the ICC T20 World Cup underway today. KATHMANDU: Nepal is taking on England in the first match of the ICC T20 World Cup 2026 to be held in Kathmandu on Sunday. The match will start at 3:15 pm IST at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. All the matches of Nepal will be played at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

Nepal had secured its place in the World Cup hosted by Bangladesh for the first time in 2014. It took Nepal 10 years to play the World Cup for the second time. Nepal has focused on world cricket after performing well against South Africa and Bangladesh in the 2024 World Cup. Earlier, Nepal lost to South Africa by one run.

Nepal, which has played the World Cup twice before, has not been able to go beyond the group stage. Nepal is playing the World Cup under the captaincy of Rohit Kumar Poudel. Sompal Kami is the first Nepali player to play in the World Cup three times.

Nepal is set to play against England in the first match of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2018 today. Nepal is in Group C of the World Cup. Nepal is placed in Group ‘B’ along with two-time world champion West Indies, one-time winner England, Scotland and Italy. After Bangladesh refused to play in the World Cup in India, Scotland got a chance on the basis of ICC rankings.

This match will be historic as Nepal is going to play T20I against England for the first time in international cricket.
