Kathmandu. KATHMANDU — The election committee of Nepal Medical Association (NMA) has started internal discussions for the election.
Talking to Nepal News Bank, Dr Sanjeev Tiwari, who is contesting for the post of chairman, said that the election committee was preparing to announce the election date soon.
According to him, the committee has called an all-party meeting on Wednesday. The meeting will discuss and decide on the election date.
He said, “The election committee has called an all-party meeting yesterday. An all-party meeting will be held next Wednesday to discuss when to fix the date for the election and they will give us a blueprint. You will decide accordingly. ’
Similarly, another candidate for the post of president, Dr Badri Rijal, said that discussions were underway for the election and the date would be announced soon.
“Discussions are underway for the election. Maybe a decision will be taken in 2-4 days. Then the date of the election will also be announced,” he said.
The first phase of the election was scheduled outside the Kathmandu Valley on January 2 and 3. Likewise, it was scheduled to be held in Kathmandu Valley on January 15, 16 and 17.
However, in view of the interim order issued by the Patan High Court regarding the election of the association, all the election programs going on as per the predetermined schedule were stopped.
The election has become uncertain following the court’s order at a time when the process for the central election of Nepal Medical Association and the election of leadership at various levels is underway.
