Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: Two persons have been arrested for their involvement in the transaction of hundi and non-physical currency from Bhimdhunga of Nagarjun municipality-8 in Kathmandu.
A team from the District Police Range, Kathmandu arrested them with Rs 16 million in cash. A team deployed from the premises arrested them based on information that non-physical currency was being transacted.
The arrested have been identified as Sagar Giri, 28, and Pramod Prasad Dhital, 28, of Nagarjun Municipality-8.
The Kathmandu District Court has remanded them in custody for 5 days and further investigation is underway, said police.
The police also confiscated cheques of different banks, cheques of Rs 2.73 million, ATM, citizenship certificates, two four-wheelers, one two-wheeler, three vehicle registration books, six mobile phones of different companies, 31 SIM cards and a computer.
