ICC T20 World Cup 2019: Nepal to play against Canada

Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: Nepal is playing its final practice match against Canada today as it prepares for the ICC T20 World Cup.

The Nepali cricket team, which defeated the United Arab Emirates (UAE) by seven wickets, is aiming to enter the World Cup with confidence after defeating Canada.

The match will kick off at 1:15 pm at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. Earlier, Nepal had given a positive signal by defeating UAE in the first practice match held on Tuesday.

Nepal, which gained experience from the practice matches played in India and Sri Lanka before the World Cup, will now take the match against Canada as the final test.

Nepal will begin its World Cup journey against England on February 8. This World Cup is also a historic opportunity for Nepal, which will have to compete against two-time world champions West Indies and one-time champions England. Scotland and Italy are also in the group.

Nepal will play against Italy on February 12, West Indies on February 15 and Scotland on February 17. This is the first time Nepal is playing international cricket against England and Italy. All the group stage matches will be held in Mumbai, where tickets for all the matches of the Nepali team have been sold out in advance.

Nepal is playing the World Cup for the third time after 2014 and 2024. The Nepali team, led by captain Rohit Poudel, has expressed its commitment to play for hundred percent results.

In the other groups of the World Cup, it is expected to be a tough competition between the giants like India, Pakistan, Australia and South Africa. The top two teams from the group stage will advance to the Super Eights.
