Kathmandu. The All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) has urged the National Sports Council (NSC) to lift the suspension of the national football team within 7 days.
The ANFA, through a letter, urged the NSC to lift the suspension. According to the ANFA, the international football bodies have termed the NSC’s decision as the interference of a third party as unacceptable.
FIFA has written to the international football governing body FIFA regarding the suspension of ANFA by the National Sports Council (NSC).
FIFA has ordered to resume the election process which was postponed on March 27 and complete it within seven days. If it fails to comply with FIFA’s directives, it will inform the FIFA Council and may recommend Nepal to be suspended. If such a situation arises, there is a risk that Nepal will lose its participation in international competitions and the financial support it receives from FIFA and AFC will also be stopped.
The National Sports Council (NSC) had suspended ANFA for three months as per its decision on March 24 for defying its directives to hold the elections repeatedly.
