Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: A process has been initiated to provide Rs 25,000 as relief cost to the landless squatters who have been kept in holding centres in different parts of the Kathmandu Valley.
Meanwhile, the District Administration Office, Kathmandu has directed the authorities to vacate the existing area and manage it by June 28.
The administration has asked them to apply for relief. The relief amount will be sent to the bank account of the concerned person, according to the administration.
They will get the rent amount in installments.
A cabinet meeting held on May 19 had decided to provide a lump sum expenditure of Rs 25,000 for the rehabilitation of the squatters displaced from the Kathmandu Valley.
Likewise, the government has decided to provide Rs 15,000 per month to a family of five members and Rs 2,000 per member for three months to those having more than five members.
