Geography and road condition of Nepal should be taken into consideration while importing vehicles: IGP Karki

Kathmandu. Inspector General of Police Dan Bahadur Karki has said that attention should be paid to Nepal’s geography, road condition, engineering and psychology while importing vehicles.

Inaugurating the Nepal Mobility Expo-2026 in Nai on Tuesday, IGP Karki said that the safety of the citizens is also linked to the safety of vehicles.

He said, “Geography, road condition, engineering and psychology of the users should be taken into consideration while importing vehicles.” I have said this keeping in mind whether the passengers will be safe while importing such vehicles. ’

He said that the safer every vehicle ply on the road, the more assured the citizens can be.

IGP Karki said the Nepal Police was playing its role to make road safety more effective. He said that not only the negligence of the drivers but also the geography, vehicles and road engineering of Nepal are equally responsible.

He stressed the need for equal attention to all these aspects to improve road safety.
