Kathmandu. CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli has directed the newly appointed central committee members to fulfill their responsibilities through activeness, efficiency and planned working style.

Administering oath of office and secrecy to the nominated central committee members at a function organized at the party’s central office, Chyasal, Chairman Oli said that getting the responsibility and fulfilling it successfully is a different matter. He said that although he has been given the responsibility on the basis of his long contribution to the party and winning the trust of the leadership, now he should prove his ability through the results of his work.

He said, “It is more difficult to fulfill the responsibility efficiently than to get it. The responsibility is not just that, it has a long history, contribution, hard work and sweat attached to it. The responsibility is the result of that. You have also got this responsibility by contributing to the party for a long time, sweating and winning the trust. But now the test has started as to how this responsibility is fulfilled, how it is implemented and how it is made successful. Now, as a central member, your real work and its results should be seen. ’

Oli described the ability to effectively convey the party’s policies, principles and decisions to the cadres, activism, discipline and honesty towards the leadership as the basis of responsibility evaluation. Stating that evaluation should not be done only on the basis of past contributions, he said that the ability to work according to the new responsibility should also be shown.

Stating that activism alone is not enough, Chairman Oli stressed on the need to increase efficiency. Giving an example that a capable person can do a lot of work in less time, he said that efficiency and action plan are necessary to make the result of labor effective.

He said that while working, we should move forward on the basis of priority by making a clear plan. Stating that the tendency to undertake many works at once but not complete any work would not give the expected results, he directed the newly appointed members to work in a systematic and planned manner.

He said, “If we work in a planned way, then we can remove the mountain by digging it. But if we work here and there without a plan, even a small work cannot be completed. If we do all the work at once, no work can be completed. Therefore, we should move forward in a systematic way by making a clear plan of where to start and in how much time to complete it.” ’

Stating that wrong path should not be chosen while formulating policy, decision and planning, Oli stressed that the problem should be focused on the solution instead of making it more complicated.

He said, “We have to choose the right path. If we go the wrong way, the further we go, the more we will lose. Therefore, we should never make mistakes in policy making and decision-making. Problems may come, but there is no problem that cannot be solved. Our focus should not be on exacerbating the problem, but on finding a solution. ’

Stating that the current political situation of the country is complicated, Oli claimed that the siege against the UML is continuing.

He said, “The current situation is a bit complicated. We have faced various setbacks politically. In such a situation, there are many people who give advice, but there are very few who support and cooperate. But we should not live in ostentation, but in reality. ’
